The mobility aid grant scheme is designed to provide funding or part-funding to assist with the cost of works designed to address mobility issues in your home, The mobility aid grant can help with the cost of items such as:
- the purchase and installation of Stairlifts
- Level access showers,
- Bathroom conversions,
- Grab rails,
- Access Ramps
- Outdoor stairlifts
While the mobility grant scheme is primarily designed for older people or people with disabilities who find their homes difficult to access due to their disability.
There is also a ‘House Adaptation Grant’ scheme available. House adaptation grants are available for works that are considered to be ‘more extensive’ such as a complete Bathroom Conversion or more complicated and detailed house adaptations to address disabilities.
Mobility Grant Aid is available for owner-occupied properties as well as private rented accommodation (T&C apply).
To qualify for either the Mobility Aid Grant or the house Adaptation Grant scheme, you must apply to and satisfy the requirements of your local authority. Your application will be considered and prioritised based on your needs.
